CyberSafeIreland has officially launched!!!
Making our official launch on Safer Internet Day 2016, we are rolling out a programme of education to children in 4th to 6th class (aged 9 to 13) providing practical advice on how to embrace the opportunities for learning and enjoyment that technology can deliver, whilst equipping them with the tools to avoid harm. Training sessions are designed to teach children and their parents how to use the internet without engaging in risky behaviour, how to protect themselves by using privacy settings, and how to report abuse.
CyberSafeIreland is aiming to provide sessions for 80 schools in its first year, rising to 375 schools by 2018, and will be prioritising training in DEIS (Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools) designated schools to deliver its mission to prioritise the most vulnerable children.
